Anglers of all ages and skill levels are welcome! While many customers just want to catch bass and have a good time, I also offer instructional trips regarding seasonal fishing patterns, deep water, specific techniques, and how to interpret sonar. I do not fish on your trip unless you ask me to or if I need to demonstrate a particular technique.
The numbers that are reported on social media of recent catches reflects the amount of bass my clients catch. My mission is to help you learn the skills to catch lots of big fish on Lake Guntersville, skills that will also help you catch more and bigger fish on your home lake and any other lakes that you fish. In addition, I will focus my efforts on your goals for our trip whether you want to learn a new technique, find fish for an upcoming tournament, learn the current patterns for a week s visit, or just have an enjoyable day with friends, family or a client.

The trip is catch-and-release, and Donald shares 45+ years of Lake Guntersville knowledge throughout the day — including seasonal patterns, sonar interpretation, and technique instruction tailored to your goals.
How much does a Lake Guntersville bass guide trip cost?
Monday through Friday rates are $400 for a half day (4 hours) and $500 for a full day (6 hours), for 1–2 anglers. A third person adds $150 and a follow boat adds $200. Weekends and holidays add $75 to the daily rate. A deposit is required to book, and the balance is due at the end of the trip.

Will you fish on the trip too?
No — Donald does not fish during your trip unless you specifically ask him to, or unless he needs to demonstrate a particular technique. The day is about putting you on fish and helping you catch them.
What happens if bad weather cancels my trip?
If weather forces a cancellation, you can reschedule for any open date within the same calendar year. Deposits are non-refundable for client cancellations or no-shows, but weather reschedules are not a problem.
What is the Waypoint Package?
It's a $300 custom information package containing GPS waypoints, current baits, presentations, and techniques Donald is using to catch fish on Lake Guntersville. Every package is built for the individual angler — no two are the same.
